Chef's Classics Menu

A Five-Course Curated Dinner from James Beard Award-winning Chef Joseph Lenn.

AVAILABILITY

The Chef’s Classics Menu is available Tuesday through Saturday and may be enjoyed at any table in our dining room.

Guests do not prepay or reserve the Chef’s Classics Menu separately. Simply make a standard dinner reservation through Resy, and the menu may be selected at the table at the start of your reservation.

OVERVIEW

The Chef’s Classics Menu is a five-course dinner highlighting signature dishes and seasonal compositions that reflect the heart of J.C. Holdway. Each menu draws from local farms, regional purveyors, and Chef Joseph Lenn’s own garden, presenting many of the preparations that have come to define the restaurant’s cooking.

The experience begins with a selection of small snacks before moving through a progression of thoughtfully composed courses. Guests select one option from each course, allowing the kitchen to guide the pacing of the meal while showcasing the restaurant’s wood-fired approach and Southern foundation. Each dish is served exactly as designed by the kitchen.

 

 For more than eight years, this format has allowed the kitchen and service team to share the restaurant’s enduring philosophy: Southern ingredients prepared with refined technique, rooted in place, and guided by the rhythm of the seasons.

This experience is well suited for celebrations, special occasions, or for guests who prefer to place their trust in the kitchen and enjoy the evening as it unfolds.

Guests seeking a more immersive chef-led experience may instead reserve our Chef’s Tasting Experience, a private chef’s counter buyout prepared personally by Chef Joseph Lenn.

 

DIETARIES

The Chef’s Classics Menu is served exactly as designed by the kitchen, and substitutions or modifications are not available.

 

Because the menu is structured as a curated culinary experience, we do not offer gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, or allium-free versions of the menu.

In some cases, a guest with an allergy may still be able to navigate the menu by selecting options within each course that naturally avoid a particular ingredient. However, dishes themselves will not be altered or modified for allergies or dietary restrictions.

Guests with allergies should communicate them to their server at the start of the meal so our team can help determine whether the available course options may work for them. Guests who require menu modifications may prefer to dine à la carte, where the kitchen has greater flexibility.

DINNER FORMAT

The Chef’s Classics Menu is designed to be enjoyed by the entire table, and participation by all guests is required.

 

Guests select one option from each course, and the evening’s menu is presented at the start of the experience. While the overall structure remains consistent, individual dishes may change based on seasonal availability and daily sourcing; for this reason, the Chef’s Classics Menu is not published online in advance.

Optional supplemental courses and wine pairings may be offered to accompany the menu.

The experience unfolds within your standard dining time, with pacing guided by the kitchen and service team. Each course is introduced tableside.

 

PRICING

Because the menu reflects seasonal ingredients and daily sourcing, the exact price of the evening’s menu will be shared at the table when the experience is presented. The Chef’s Classics Menu is typically priced between $125 and $175 per guest, excluding beverages, tax, and service charge. Optional supplemental courses may be offered during the experience, with pricing shared at that time.

No deposit is required, as the Chef’s Classics Menu is selected at the start of your reservation.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Standard reservation cancellation policies apply. Cancellations made less than 4 hours prior to the reservation time are subject to a $25 per person fee.
